What this service is
BuildSigned administers phase-based construction contracts between a contractor and their client. It records evidence, computes amounts from the contract and the applicable jurisdiction rule, and issues payment requests. It is software, not a party to your contract.
What it is not
It is not collections, not accounts receivable management, and not a debt collection service. It does not pursue anyone on your behalf. It also does not certify code compliance, and nothing it produces is a professional engineering or inspection opinion.
Who signs
Every approval that moves money carries the name of a human being, a timestamp and a reason. The automated agent assembles the record and proposes; it never signs and never certifies.
Accuracy of the legal data
Retainage rates, prompt-payment terms and waiver forms are seeded with their statutory citation and kept current to the best of our ability. They are provided for calculation, not as legal advice. Verify against the statute for anything consequential.
Money
Funds move between you and your client through the payment rails you connect. BuildSigned does not take custody of your money and does not hold it in transit.
Availability and termination
The service is provided as-is while in development. You may export your contract data and leave at any time. We will give notice before any change that would make your existing contracts behave differently.
